COMMISSIONED ARTWORK

Once you submit a request for commission, I will schedule a consultation to discuss the details of your project.

I will ask questions and give any feedback, suggestions, or details needed to make some preliminary decisions about the overall direction and size of your painting.

Based on that information, I will create an estimate for the price and timeline of your project, and we will discuss payment. When the payment is complete, I will begin the painting process.

I can share updates as the painting is in progress, or you can choose for the piece to remain a surprise.

When the painting is complete, I will reach out to make arrangements for shipping, delivery, and/or installation.

With your painting, you will receive the original paint palette and a signed certificate of authenticity.

I will be in direct communication with you every step of the way!

WORDS FROM PAST CLIENTS

“I feel that she did a wonderful job incorporating color suggestions, our family story, and a joyful mood into the painting she gave us. It is a wonderful mix and representation of what our family is.”

“She listened to our request for our set and followed through perfectly. I know the color scheme we chose was not the colors she typically uses, but she created the perfect piece for us. Originally the painting was to hang in our guest bedroom — but we loved it so much it hangs in our living room so we can enjoy it every day. We will be building our retirement home soon and will commission Caitlin to do another special piece for our new home!!!!”

“I am thrilled with how everything turned out. I enjoyed the entire process and the back-and-forth communications and how she worked with me to design the perfect paintings for my new space and my new life. I really do meditate on the message that the paintings convey every day. Thanks again for the hard work!”

“I really enjoyed this experience. We love having a custom piece in our home by a local artist:”

  • How much do you charge for your commissioned paintings?

Commission rates depend entirely on the size, style, and amount of detail going into your painting. This will vary for each project and individual. Once I am familiar with your project concept, I can give you an estimate.

Is shipping included in the price?

No, shipping is not included in the commission price. Shipping rates are based on the size and weight of the painting. Paintings larger than 36” wide will be removed from the frame to reduce potential damage and will need to be re-stretched upon delivery at your local framer. For some projects local to the Dallas area, I can deliver your painting depending on the size and the date needed. Estimates of shipping rates for your project will be discussed before the process begins, but payment for shipping will not be taken until the project is complete and I have an accurate shipping rate.

    When is payment due?

Payment for the painting itself is due prior to the start of the painting. Shipping cost is due once the painting is complete. We will discuss payment options after I have an estimate outlined for your project.

    How long will it take?

The overall commission process varies for each client and depends on my current schedule at the time of booking, but generally, it can take anywhere from 6 weeks to a few months. I take my time on commissioned work to ensure that I am accurately capturing your vision. I will not force it to completion before it’s ready. I will give a more accurate timeline once I know more information about your project.

What do you need from me?

I typically ask the following questions:

    • who is the painting for?

    • do you already have a space picked out for this piece?

    • what styles, colors, vibes, intentions, ideas, etc. do you have in mind?

    • will this painting represent a meaning, memory, or purpose for you?

    • how do you want it to feel in your space? (warm, exciting, cozy, inspiring, etc)

    • which of my original works are your favorites and what elements do you like about them?

    • will you need this to be completed in time for a special occasion (holiday, birthday, etc)?

    • what kind of music do you listen to?

    • how do you decorate your space? (pictures are always welcome and helpful!)

What if I want to incorporate work from a different artist?

I do not duplicate the work of other artists.

Can I see pictures of past commission projects?

I do not usually share images of past commissioned work publically because they are so uniquely specific to each client’s personality and purpose. However, I will share with you any past work relevant to your ideas and style when we discuss your project as needed.

Do you allow suggestions or revisions during the painting process?

No, I do not. By commissioning me to create a piece for you, I trust that you are familiar with my work already and chose to work with me specifically for that reason.
