h e a v e n

there’s no such thing

as straight and narrow

the path is winding and steep

on the edge of a cliff

and at times you have to

scramble and scale

before reaching a

breakaway

a clearing

an opening to the base

of an oasis

a lagoon

and then you’re sucked under

part of the tide

part of the

thundering

crashing

waves

and then you are the ocean

the

entire

ocean

you are the depths

And there’s no way to come up for air

this is breathing now

this is living

because you see that your

entire

surface

is touching the sky

you roll over to find

that at every inch of the other side

you and all of land collide

seeping in

you turn within

the mixing and shaping

the pressure

the fire inside

you are one and all in a

single

lonely

breath

the definition of hard-pressed

therefore separation

doesn’t exist

it never did

thus is hell

is falling into the illusory trap

that you were

ever on your own

no

you were never on your own

it’s all right here right now

and you get to decide

which side

of Heaven

to live in

today

stop accepting this idea that it’s

somewhere outside of you

and know

we never left

no

we will never leave you

no

we have always been here

always are here

always will be

here

NOW
